If you know Boycat, you know we care about where your money goes and how products are made. So it's reasonable to wonder why BuycatFinds is showing deals from Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
Fair question. Let us explain.
Nobody changes their shopping habits because someone told them they were shopping wrong. People change when they find something better. Our job is to get them there.
How we get there
Become the go-to deals hub
This is where we are right now. We're building a place people actually want to check every day, and that means having the best deals from everywhere, including the big stores. If we launched with only niche ethical brands, nobody would stick around long enough to hear the rest. Trust comes first.
Start the conversation
Once people rely on us for deals, we start surfacing information about store practices right alongside the deals. Not lectures, just context. Enough for people to make informed choices on their own.
Introduce ethical alternatives
When someone finds a deal on a product they like, we show them a similar product from a brand that does things the right way. Same thing you were going to buy, but from a better source.
Make ethical the better deal
We work directly with ethical brands to get real deals for our community. Once the better option is also the cheaper option, there's no reason to keep showing the companies that don't align with our values. That's when they come off the site.
What you can do right now
You don't have to wait for any of that. We already built a Shop Ethical filter into the site. Tap the leaf icon on the deals page and it hides every deal from Amazon, Walmart, and Target. What's left are deals from stores whose practices better align with our values.
